E. Martin Markl III, President & CEO
Mr. E. Martin Markl III is currently the President and CEO of Eragon Commercial Consultants, LLC. in Plano, Texas. Mr. Markl began his business career in his family’s domestic and foreign car dealerships in Kansas City that included Buick, Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Maserati, and Aston Martin.
Within two years after college, he became the CEO of his family’s auto group, which had two domestic franchise stores and one import store. The family made the decision to sell those franchises in the early 1980s, and at that point, Mr. Markl became involved in several businesses, from photo processing to home building and land development.
In the 1990s, Mr. Markl created Keith Energy Group; a company that pioneered energy retrofit contracting and consulting throughout the United States. From that company, evolved Energy Financing, Inc., which provided financing for worldwide energy projects.
Mr. Markl has been a speaker at the Texas Economic Development forum, a member of the keynote-financing panel at TRIEA, and in front of other groups regarding financing opportunities within the energy marketplace. Mr. Markl has been in the Pentagon on numerous occasions as a consultant and has presented in front of the technical committee of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Mr. Markl was the head of Ballot Integrity in Tarrant County, Texas representing the Republican Party, Texas Governor Rick Perry, now United States Senator John Cornyn in the 2002 elections, and Ballot Integrity for the same parties at Dallas County election headquarters in 2008.
Mr. Markl served as Chairman of the Outdoor Sports Club at the Fort Worth Club in Fort Worth, Texas and was a founder of their Wild Game Banquet benefitting Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth, Texas. He is a Life Member of the Dallas Safari Club (a worldwide conservation organization), and he served three years as a Vice President and three years as a director of that organization.
He previously sat on the United States delegation to CIC (International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation). In 2016 Mr. Markl and Outdoor TV personality, Mr. Larry Weishuhn, were made honorary lifetime members of International Wildlife Crimestoppers (IWC). IWC is focused on supporting global wildlife enforcement officers and eliminating global poaching and wildlife trafficking. Mr. Markl was subsequently been appointed to the IWC Executive Board of Directors as IWC International Liaison. Mr. Markl was appointed to a six-year term as a Director of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Operation Game Thief (OGT) Board by TPWD Executive Director Carter Smith in September 2017.
While living in Oregon Mr. Markl was Incident Commander for the Union County Search and Rescue Unit of the Union County Sheriff’s Office specializing in tracking, high angle rescue, and command, and he is also a previously commissioned peace officer. He earned and was commissioned by the Oregon Department of Fish and Game with, the title of Master Hunter, a group representing less than one percent of license holders. He is a life member of the National Rifle Association (where he is currently working on a series of anti-poaching articles to appear in the online NRA-Hunters Leadership Forum) and The Texas State Rifle Association as well as a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Safari Club International and was previous committee chairman of the Ducks Unlimited National Wildlife Art Show. He is a past president and Founder of the Prospectors Breakfast Club, a former member of the Kansas City Museum Natural Science Society Board of Directors (1978-1979).
Mr. Markl attended the M.J. Neely School of Business at Texas Christian University with a major in Finance after being recruited to play football and is a graduate of The General Motors Institute with honors in Finance and Management. He is a graduate of Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City, Missouri.
Honors include Who’s Who in business in Finance in 1980, ’81, ’82, ’99, ’00, Who’s Who in the World 1982, Mercedes Benz Star Sales Guild, and the Rolls Royce Order of the Silver Lady. His personal interests range from hunting, fishing, horses, and time spent with his Labrador retrievers.
Wayne Clinton, COO & Finance Director
Mr. Wayne Clinton is currently the COO and Finance Director of Eragon Commercial Consultants in Plano, Texas. Mr. Clinton began his career n the General Accounting department of Shell Chemical in New York. After 2 years with Shell, Mr. Clinton went to work for IBM in their Aerospace office in Los Angeles where he worked with the McDonald Douglas Aircraft and Garret Air Research teams.
Upon leaving IBM, Mr. Clinton became co-founder and partner in A&P Printers and Design Graphics in Carson, California. Providing form printing services to several hospital groups and promotional materials to local and regional retail and industrial firms, the largest of which was Church’s Chicken, growth was rapid and substantial. After 3 years of servicing the western regional needs of Church’s Chicken, their corporate offices went to a full-service ad agency.
Later recruited by an advertising agency in Chicago, Mr. Clinton relocated to the Midwest. After discovering Agency life wasn’t for him, Mr. Clinton went to work for one of his clients in the car business where he quickly entered management. Subsequently, trained as a Finance and Insurance Manager, Mr. Clinton’s financing acumen began to blossom.
After 6 years in the car business, Mr. Clinton went to work for an old “tin man” coming out of retirement in the construction trades, providing financing to local businesses and homeowners in need of remodeling and construction services. While there, Mr. Clinton received formal training as an underwriter by LaSalle National Bank and Lakeside Bank & Trust. In 2 years of joining Precision Construction, the firm became the 2nd largest remodeling and construction entity in Chicago. A position it held until the owner passed away 6 years later.
At this point, Mr. Clinton returned to Los Angeles where he embarked on a consulting career that included some very impressive entities, such as: Arthur Andersen, KPMG, National Education Center, Neville-Clark Group, Coopers & Lybrand, Client Source, Sander A Kessler Commercial Brokerage, Freeze Frame Video, Sequoia National Bank, Clear Image, Pacific Capital Group, Team Setka Realty, Straight Talk Financial Group, the Merchant and Manufacturers Association, Bal News Service and the Consultants Research Institute.
Prior to joining Eragon Commercial Consultants, Mr. Clinton was Finance Director at CFIC Funding for 16 years when they were in Torrance. While there, he provided project financing, equipment financing and working capital solutions on a global stage. Mr. Clinton has a degree in Business Administration from California State University at Dominquez Hills and has also studied at Pace University in New York.
